Top 50 Books to Read Next List

This is my reading list. What I’ve read, what I’m reading, what I’m going to read next. It’s mostly literary fiction, but I’ll mix in the occasional bio or historical whatever. I’m not adverse to reading books written by white American men, but I’ll also read female authors. I’ll even read a book written by a non-white, non-American, just to keep those comparative lit snobs off my back.

As an English major, I feel that it my sworn duty to at least attempt to be well read. My goal is to read interesting, entertaining, meaningful books by gifted authors and expand my mind.

Got any suggestions? Leave them in the comments section below. I occasionally put pithy reviews on my Goodreads.com account. Believe it or not, but 41 people from 16 countries have liked my Van Gogh book review on Goodreads.

  • PP98 means the book won the Pulitzer Prize in 1998
  • NBA09 means the book was National Book Award winner in 2009
  • (GR:3.97) means the book has a reader rating of 3.97 out of five on Goodreads.com
